1、 Modified MDI product introduction

Modified MDI, as a derivative of MDI series products, is a technical extension of pure MDI and polymerized MDI products commonly used in the market at present. It mainly relies on MDI's own reaction or reaction with other chemicals and mixing with other chemicals to obtain the best viscosity and functionality products, which are widely used in soft foam, elastomer, coating, adhesive and other fields. At present, there are three kinds of modified MDI commonly used in industry: carbodiimide modified MDI (liquefied MDI), polyol modified MDI and mixed MDI.

Modified MDI is widely used in the fields of molded foam (soft furniture), automobiles, shoe materials, fitness equipment and waterborne polyurethane. With the continuous improvement of the production technology level of modified MDI and MDI prepolymer by domestic mainstream modified MDI manufacturers and the expansion of production capacity, the output of domestic modified MDI is expected to keep growing in the next five years. From the perspective of the development of downstream industries, upholstered furniture, elastomers, coatings and adhesives and waterborne polyurethane will be the main demand growth areas of domestic modified MDI.

It is estimated that in the next five years (2022-2026), the supply and demand of domestic modified MDI will increase slightly, and the compound annual growth rate of domestic downstream demand will be about 9%.

As a new product, modified MDI has the following advantages:

1. Environmental protection, low TVOC (total volatile organic compounds) content, little pollution to human body and environment;

2. Good low-temperature storage, low temperature non crystallization, easy to use;

3. The prepared foam has high hardness and good flame retardancy;

4. The price fluctuates slightly.
