1. Overview
Mannich polyether polyols are a kind of polyether polyols prepared by Mannich reaction of ethanolamines, aldehydes and phenols. Compared with ordinary hard foam polyether polyols, Mannich polyether polyols are characterized by aromatic ring structure, good compatibility with polymeric MDI and self catalytic activity. Mannich polyether polyols have been used in the field of rigid polyurethane foam for many years. Because of its autocatalytic and flame retardant properties, they are mostly used in the spraying field. The common synthesis routes are as follows [1]:
In general, petroleum based phenol is widely sold in the market as active hydrogen to participate in Mannich reaction to obtain polyether polyols. Such products have high cost, poor flame retardancy and high viscosity, which limit their application. At the same time, more carbon emissions in the life cycle of petroleum based materials are not conducive to carbon neutralization. Jiahua Chemical Purabiol-RC series Mannich polyols make full use of biological material resources by using biological materials to replace petroleum based phenol. Its biological content is more than 50%, and its carbon footprint is far lower than that of ordinary Mannich polyether.
2. Product introduction
3. Product characteristics
The renewable biological base contains unique long aliphatic chain structure and rigid benzene ring structure. Compared with typical polyether polyols and nonylphenol mannich polyethers, Purabiol RC series mannich polyols have:
-Excellent flame retardancy can give polyurethane foam good flame retardancy grade
-Super hydrolysis resistance can increase the storage stability of hard foam composite
-Compared with petroleum based Mannich and ordinary polyether, it has higher pentane compatibility
-Good dimensional stability at high and low temperatures
-Faster reactivity
-Very low viscosity, much lower than ordinary Mannich polyether
-Cost advantages
4. Performance test of polyurethane composite
4.1 Purabiol RC mannich polyether polyol VS nonylphenol mannich polyether polyol
By comparing the viscosity and compatibility with pentane of Purabiol RC series Mannich polyether polyols and ordinary nonylphenol Mannich polyether polyols, the results are as follows:
4.2 Flame retardancy of Purabiol RC Mannich polyether polyol
By adding equal portions of Mannich polyether into typical polyurethane rigid foam flame retardant formula, we compared nonylphenol Mannich polyether polyols with Purabiol RC series Mannich polyether polyols, and found that Purabiol RC Mannich polyether polyols are more excellent and outstanding in flame retardant performance.
